Ebullient Echoes (2002)

for flute solo

Duration: 4'

Commissioned as a celebratory work, Ebullient Echoes uses as its catalyst the idea of overflowing excitement and joy.  The flute’s unbridled gestures explode across its full range like exploding fireworks, un-tethered by any strict sense of pulse.  In the work’s rare quiet moments, gentle melodies bask in the afterglow of the echoing opening motives and anticipate their return for a rousing finale.
